BillApe for Mac
A real Mac app in your Dock. For Apple silicon and Intel Macs, macOS 11 or newer.
- Download BillApe.dmg and open it.
- Drag BillApe into Applications.
- The first time: open it, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. You only do this once.
In your browser
Use BillApe in Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge, on your computer or phone. Your data stays in that browser, encrypted.
- Open the web app and choose a password.
- On iPhone: tap Share → Add to Home Screen to use it like an app.
On your own server
Run the web app and the sync server on a Hetzner VPS or a UGREEN NAS with Docker. Keeps all your devices in sync, end-to-end encrypted.
Source code
BillApe is open source under the MIT licence. Read the code, build it yourself or run the web version on your own computer with Node.js.

Moving between versions? Each version keeps its own copy of your data until you connect them to the same sync server. You can also move everything with Backup & export in the app.
Updating the Mac app: download the newest BillApe.dmg and drag it into Applications again (choose Replace). Your data stays. See what changed in the release notes.
